Eating low carb will become natural overtime, but it’s important to remember that it will be different than what you’re used to. So to help you be successful on this new journey of eating low carb, here are a few tips:

  1. Bring your Diet Do’s and Don’ts sheet with you to the grocery store for shopping, this will help you avoid adding temptations and unnecessary items into your cart.
  2. When shopping, keep it simple.
    1. Buy good protein sources like eggs, chicken, beef, sausage, bacon, or seafood.
    2. Buy good vegetables like onions, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, celery, cucumbers, cabbage, mushrooms, radishes, etc.
  3. ** Buying coleslaw mix are a great fall back for making stir fries. **
  4. Add fat sources to your meals.
    1. Sauté or roast with butter or healthy oils like avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil, or grapeseed oil.
  5. Make food in larger batches so you can meal prep for the week.
    1. Purchase produce in larger quantities from stores like Sam’s or Costco to cut back on costs.
  6. Get connected to other outside resources for low carb options.

Since this is all new to you, here are a few meal ideas to help you get started:
