Be the Driver, Not the Passenger to Your Life.

We all know that life can be hectic and things can appear out of control. In those trying times where you feel you’re struggling with your day to day life; we ask you to take a step back. Look at what’s going on around you and tell yourself what you want. At the end of the day you’re in the driver’s seat and you wield the power to make changes. You just need to be willing to make the changes and stop giving the power to other excuses. Every person is blessed with the same amount of hours in each day and the opportunity of a new day to start it off right.

In our culture and environment, it’s clear we have access to more of everything including food. Different varieties of foods than we have never had access to before. Our society is taking advantage of it; people are eating what they want when they want it. The food production industry loves this, because they can influence the public on what they think they want. Marketing is everywhere from television, buses, social media, internet and your local stores like hardware stores, gas stations, and pharmacy. All of these places have registers that are surrounded by temptations like sweet and salty junk foods.

Isn’t it hard enough for us to say no to these temptations in general? Now we also have to face the challenge every time we checkout at the grocery store or every time were out in public? In the beginning I asked you to take a step back and look around you. What did you notice?

You probably noticed everyone is busy, stressed, complaining, and worried? Our society has given us access to everything but yet we seem to actually have less. Less of your life. Less free choices. Less of your health. Less free time. Less of what you actually NEED! So how do you get it back?

Just stop. Stop buying what you think you "need" to have. Eat the right foods that are local and seasonal. Eat real food and not food on the go like granola bars to save time. Start taking time for yourself. Change your lifestyle to reflect what you want it to be and follow what you want to do. Live a lifestyle that is healthy for you. Don’t compromise your health for your work. You're not on this earth to work; you're here to experience life. Start by giving yourself good health and not suffering from poor health because you don't have time to care about your health. Prioritize what’s important in your life! That should be YOU!!
