Continuous Support for the Use of a Low Carb Diet

What we teach our patients about the dieta is something we want you to utilize for the rest of your life. We know it works because we’ve affected so many lives for the better. As you’ve probably seen yourself the dieta is a change from what the world tells you to do. But that doesn’t make it wrong.

The world is starting to come around to our ways and accept them because eating a low carb diet gets results. The Journal of the American Medical Association published an article in January of 2018 titled Interest in the Ketogenic Diet Grows for Weight Loss and Type 2 Diabetes. This is interesting because a Medical Doctor by the name of Steven Heymsfield stated "It seems to help people not only lose weight but reduce their requirement for [diabetes] medications, and they get improvements in their hemoglobin A1c [HbA1c], which is an end point for diabetes management."

Here is a link to the article: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2669724

The article has a synopsis of the research study designed to assess the effect of how a low carb diet can benefit individuals who have Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The findings showed that low carb diets lead to three times more weight loss than the traditional low fat calorie restrictive diet. This is not the first and it won’t be the last article you read spreading positivity on the benefits of a low carb diet. The world is starting to come around!

Hopefully with time these kinds of studies and articles will lead to adjustments to standard treatments for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and change the national diet recommendations. For now, all we can ask is that you help spread the word and help people change their life. Its clear diet is an important component to health and our future.
